The Things I learned From My Adventure In Asia

While I was traveling I learned different languages and I also mastered four written alphabets. For example, “A talented young man, Marco had learned several languages along the way, including Mongolian (though not Chinese), and had mastered four written alphabets” (Polo,Khanacademy.com). This shows how traveling helped me learn different languages to communicate with others. This also shows that learning different could of helped me to teach others in Europe different languages. Therefore learning different languages has made me smarter and helpful.

My Adventure To China

At the age of seventeen I sailed from Venice, Italy, all the way to Asia, I traveled with both my father and my uncle who were always traveling back and forth. For example, “Polo sailed south from Venice, Italy, in the Mediterranean Sea to the Middle East. They then went southeast overland to Persia (now Iran), then through the Pamir Mountains and the Gobi Desert, to Beijing, China” (Polo, wlcsd.org). This shows how I got to Asia and the age I started to travel with my father and uncle. Therefore this is how I traveled with my father and uncle to Asia.

Technology That Was Used While I Was Traveling

My adventure in China was amazing and the most amazing part was when I was being introduced to new advanced technology such as the golden tablet. For example, “The golden tablet was the special VIP passport, authorizing the travelers to receive throughout the Great Khan's dominions such horses, lodging, food and guides as they required. It took the Polo’s three full years to return home, in April 1269” (Polo & his travelers, Silk Road.com). This shows how that the advanced technology that was given to us travel easier. Therefore advanced technology has made traveling easier and getting goods easier.

China's Advanced Technology

China was amazing, I couldn’t help but notice all of the technology they used, and China was nothing like China. For Example, “Marco was fascinated by the wealth and luxury of the Chinese cities and of Kublai Khan’s court” (Polo biography, Duckster.com). This shows how my reaction to the Chinese technology was shocking because I’ve never seen that type of technology before. Another example is, “Wide roads and huge civil engineering projects like the Grand Canal were well beyond anything he had experienced back home. Everything from the food to the people to the animals, like orangutans and rhinos, were new and interesting” (Polo biography, Duckster.com). This shows how new technology helped me think about bring new technology to different places. Therefore new technology in China helped me by bringing new technology back to Europe.

I am Marco Pollo

My name is Marco Polo; I was born on 1254 in Venice (Italy), at the age of seventeen I left with my father and my uncle traveling overland, which is now known as the Silk Road.
